The oleochemical industry is an important part of Russian economy, which grew by 2% in 2018. According to forecasts of the Ministry of Economy Russia's GDP will increase to 3.6 % by 2024 .
This report observes the prospects for the growth of oleochemistry in Russia, estimates the volumes of consumption of palm oil as raw materials for production of surfactants, and shows advantages of palm oil over oils of Russian origin. To assess the development of oleochemical industry in Russia this report presents the leading Russian surfactant manufacturers and their production volumes. The main directions of the oleochemical industry and the main areas of application of the final products based on palm oil and its derivatives are also observed, the share of import and export of products is given.
