Mr. Tan heads the product and market development group in Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad, a company owned 75% by Bursa Malaysia Berhad and 25% by Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group. He served as the President of Singapore Commodity Exchange Limited (“SICOM”) for two years before becoming its Senior Director, heading SICOM’s risk management and clearing house, after the takeover of SICOM by Singapore Exchange (“SGX”). Prior to SICOM, Mr Tan worked in SGX and his last major role was developing and implementing SGX’s over-the-counter (OTC) clearing business and facility for energy and freight derivatives. Mr. Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore with an Honours Degree in Biochemistry in 1987. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. In addition, he has completed the Executive Development Programme with the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
